Chain link fencing is one of the most common ways to secure sites, warehouses, farms and residential plots in Qatar. It is strong, quick to install and good value. Getting the right specification means looking at four things: height, wire thickness, mesh size and finish.

Choosing Chain Link Fencing: Height, Wire Thickness and Mesh Size

1. Height

Choose the height by what you need to keep out. Lower fences are fine for marking boundaries and gardens, while construction sites, yards and industrial plots usually need taller fencing. Check whether your site or municipality has a minimum height requirement.

2. Wire thickness

Thicker wire makes a stronger fence that is harder to cut or push through and lasts longer. For security fencing around sites and warehouses, choose a heavier wire. For gardens and light-duty boundaries, a lighter wire is usually enough and costs less.

3. Mesh size

The mesh size is the size of the diamond-shaped opening. Smaller openings are harder to climb and keep out smaller animals, but use more wire per metre. Larger openings are lighter and more economical where climbing is less of a concern.

4. Finish

Galvanised wire resists rust, which is important in Qatar's humid and salty air, especially near the coast. Ask us which finishes are currently in stock.

Planning your order

  • Measure the full length of the boundary, including any gates.
  • Decide the height, wire thickness and mesh size.
  • Plan posts, line wire and fixings along with the mesh rolls.
  • Add a little extra for joins and overlaps.

Give us your total length and the specification you need, and we will confirm stock and price.
